This week’s music video of the week comes in the form of the haunting single Come Alive, by Australian quartet The Jezabels.
The video – directed by Darcy Prendergast and Xin Li – sees the use of oil paint on glass alongside stop-motion technology to help create the backdrop for this powerfully emotive track.
The narration features an eerie animation of a manhunt – fitting in beautifully with front woman Hayley Mary’s poignant vocals. The heavy drums and instrumental intro to the track makes the video feel as if it’s a short movie, with a high quality production for both the audio and the visuals.
Come Alive is the first single to be taken from The Jezabels third studio album, Synthia, which is due for release early next year (12 February) through Caroline/Universal.
