Our final music video of the week for June comes from Australian three-piece Little May with their black and white video for Home.
Produced by acclaimed videographer Tim Sessler, the video was shot at Future Past Studios, a converted nineteenth-century church in Hudson, New York. Mixed in with the studio footage are moments that portray the concept of home, something that has a different meaning for everyone. Delicate vocals give the single a haunting quality, whilst the emotive melodies blend perfectly with the honest, heartfelt lyrics.
The track is the first to be taken from the band’s hotly anticipated debut album, which was produced and recorded with The National’s Aaron Dessner. Little May describe the single as “an old song, revisited”, and there’s certainly a sense of nostalgia that seeps through. “It had been written three years prior, from a place where a sense of belonging was being constantly chased. I think we will always associate this song, and this whole album, with Hudson and the time we all spent there”, said the band.
Little May have received a vast fan base over the last year following the release of their debut EP. The all-female band have played sold out shows in the US, Europe and Australia, and they’ll be performing at Reading & Leeds at the end of August.
